Two Charged In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a suspected pepper spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.
This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was among those injured during the incident. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – led to train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
