Harvard ex-president Summers Resigns from ChatGPT Maker's Leadership
Ex-Treasury chief the Harvard professor is departing from the board at the artificial intelligence firm, just a week after a collection of emails between him and deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein became public.
Summers commented in an announcement that he was "thankful for the chance to have contributed, optimistic about the potential of the company, and eagerly await observing their advancement".
The former Harvard president, who once headed Harvard University, stated on recently that he would be stepping back from public responsibilities due to his connections with the convicted sex offender.

The recently released messages showed that the official communicated with Epstein until the eve of his 2019 apprehension for suspected human trafficking of minors.
In a separate statement, the artificial intelligence company said it understood Summers' determination to depart.
"We acknowledge his numerous inputs and the perspective he brought to the directors," OpenAI stated.
Legislative Background
This news follows after the two houses of the legislative branch voted on this week to endorse a legislation that would require the US justice department to disclose its records on the case.
The bill will afterward move to the desk of the White House for endorsement. Trump has said he expects to sign the measure, after reversing his position on the matter following pressure from his followers.
